The problem of unemployment in India

INTRODUCTION
At present, there are several problems before us. The problem of unemployment is one of them. Both, the educated and uneducated are facing the problem of unemployment. This problem is very serious. It is also a difficult problems to solve. "Empty mind is a devil's workshop". So unemployed people are a nuisance to society.
TYPE OF UNEMPLOYMENT
There are two types of unemployment.first, there is unemployment among uneducated persons. Secondly, there is unemployment among educated persons. The letter has become more serious than the former. But both are serious and need solutions.
The ever increasing use of machines has its adverse effect on employment. The invention of machines has thrown many labourers out of employment.
Next comes the unemployment among the educated people. Many post-graduates and graduates run from pillar to post in search of jobs. The less educated persons are countless.
CAUSES OF UNEMPLOYMENT
There are several causes of unemployment,as given below:
1. ILLITERACY
The main cause of unemployment among the poor is illiteracy. Farmers and labours do not know how to utilise their leisure time in cottage industries.
2. OVER- POPULATIONS
Over- populations is also an important cause. The growing population has raised many problems. There is not enough work for all. The jobs are limited. So millions of educated youths are unemployed.The increasing population is also responsible for unemployment
3. DEFECTIVE SYSTEM OF EDUCATION
Defective education system has also created unemployment among the educated persons. There is only theoretical education. Professional teaching is very little. The students who take degrees and diplomas are not fit for work. They have to undergo further training for the job they are interested in.
4. HATE FOR MANUAL LABOUR
Besides this, an educated youth hates manual labour. He wants a white- collar job. He wants a light job. He hates to do low work. He does not get the job he likes and he does not take up the job he can get even if it is more paying.
5. Rural unemployment
In villages most of the people are agriculturists. They have no other work to do. The land is limited. Thus rular unemployment is the result of the destruction of cottage industries in villages.
6. Urban unemployment
In and in urban areas there are are educated people who do not get any job. They remain unemployed. Their education is defective. Their mentality needs change. The problem of unemployment among educated people is more serious. The unemployed educated man creates many problem for all. Computers have also crused unemployment.
THE REMEDY
The government should start small scale industries. Co-operative farming will also be helpful. There should be technical teaching. The system of education should be changed. It should meet needs of changing times. It should enable the youths to be self-reliant. In this way this problem can be solved.
Various suggestion have been put code to solve the problem of unemployment.
1.Education should be practical.
2.Technical education should be encouraged.
3.Cottage industries should be developed.
4.There should be a check on population.
5.Mentality of educated youth should be changed.
6.Love and respect for manual labour should be created.
The problem is really serious. Early steps should be taken to solve this problem. Let the government and the people join hands to fight this National evil.
