Respected papaji,
I am very grateful to you for your kind letter that I received yesterday, in which you had given some hints about the choice of profession in one of your letters. As my education is now over. It is necessary for me to think of some calling or profession. I had a strong inclination to be an advocate but now I feel that profession has lost its fascination for me. It dazzled me once but I am not dazzled now.
In the lawyer's profession, however, honourable and attractive it may be I see most lawyers starve. This is because lawyers are multiplying now - a - days. At the Barone can hardly hope to acquire even ten or twelve years of waiting. I have, therefore, made up my mind not to study law. The medical profession is also overcrowded.
Considering all the things, I have decided to become a trader. In trade, one can easily earn independence, If one industrious, observant and conscientious. Trade, as I think, holds out a sure prospect of growing rich within a few years.
I, therefore, request you to think about what I say and write whether you approve of the choice. I have made.
With sincerest regards,
Yours Affectionately,
XYZ
