Q-1 What is Sentence in English Grammar?

A Sentence is a group of words that makes complete sense.

शब्दों का एक ऐसा समूह जो पूर्ण अर्थ प्रकट करता है, Sentence कहलाता है ।

Example of Sentence 

              1.  Aryan is a good boy.

               2.  We have seen a match.

               3. They are going to school.

               4.  Radha dances.

                              Types of Sentence with example   

 1. Assertive Sentence = साधारण वाक्य

 2. Interrogative Sentence = प्रशनवाचक वाक्य

 3. Imperative Sentence = आज्ञावाचक वाक्य

 4. Exclamatory Sentence = विस्मयादिबोधक वाक्य

 5. Optative Sentence = इच्छावाचक वाक्य

    1. Assertive Sentence or Statement

   Q. What is simple Sentence?

The sentence which states or describes things or reports events is called an  Assertive Sentence or Statement.

वह वाक्य जो वस्तुओ के संबंध में बताता है अथवा घटना की जानकारी देता है, Assertive Sentence कहलाता है ।

Simple Sentence Examples

  A) He writes a letter.

  B) They are not good students.

 C) The sky is blue.

 D) The cow was grazing in the field.

2. Interrogative Sentence or Question 

 Q. What is Interrogative Sentence?

A sentence that asks a question is called an Interrogative Sentence or Question.

जिस वाक्य में कोई प्रश्न पूछा जाता है, उसे Interrogetive Sentence कहते है ।

Interrogative Sentence Examples-

            A) Are the children making a noise?

             B) What were you doing in the field?

             C) What are you writing?

             D) Were there many cats?

3. Imperative Sentence

  Q. What is Imperative sentence?

 A Sentence that has some command, request, advice, or suggestions is called an Imperative Sentence.

जिस वाक्य से आज्ञा, विनती, सलाह, सुझाव आदि के भाव प्रकट होते है, उन्हें Imperative Sentence कहते है ।

Imperetive Sentence Example- 

              A) Open the window.

               B) Bring a glass of water.

               C) Please give some money.

               D) Don't disturb me.

4. Exclamatory Sentence

  Q. What is Exclamatory Sentence?

  A sentence that expresses some sudden feeling is called an Exclamatory Sentence.

जिस वाक्य से किसी आकस्मिक भावना के प्रकट होने का बोध होता है, उसे Exclamatory Sentence  कहते है ।

Exclamatory Sentence Example- 

               A) Alas! you have failed.

              B) Hurrah! My mother has come.

             C) How very cold the night is!

            D) What a lovely picture!

5. Optative Sentence

Q. What is Optative Sentence?

   A sentence that expresses a wish or prayer is called an Optative Sentence.

जो वाक्य इच्छा या प्रार्थना प्रकट करते है, उन्हें Optative Sentence कहते है ।

Optative Sentence Example- 

                 A) God bless you.

                B) Best of luck.

               C)May you be happy !

              D) Congratulations!

             E) Oh that I were a minister.
