Introduction- After reading the Novel, "Untouchable" by Mulk Raj Anand, we can see easily, that pandit kalinat is the the villain of this novel. He is one of the priests in this novel, charge of the temple in Bulandshahr. He attempt to molest sohini (Bakha's sister ) who belonged to lower caste of Hindu.

Religious Hypocrisy : Pandit Kalinat was a living example of religious hypocrisy because he did not feel any hesitation in making his attempt to reduce sohini The innocent young girl.He did not mind coming in physical contact with a lower caste girl.
A villain person : Pandit Kalinath's character actually depicts the evil of villainy as he was not really what he appeared to be from outside. He pretended to be a Brahmin priest but he did not hesitate to molest an innocent young girl. He satisfies his animal's desire, he finds no secret to humiliate him because she belongs to a lower caste family in this novel Untouchable. When he went to save sohini, then Pandit Kali Nath called him bad words. So Pandit kali nath may be certainly decided as the villain of Untouchable.
His lust : Sohini was seen by Pandit Kalinath in this novel and he was very much impressed by her amazing beauty. He could not control himself and Invited to her come the temple house to sweep the yard. He was touching Sohini's body part with dirty intention. He did not care for the fact that he would be polluted by the contract of the girl teen age girl and belonging lowest caste family in untouchable. As Sohini cried loudly against his to attempt for her molestation. His evil act to show the bad Character in this novel.
Conclusion : He is an ill humoured. In untouchable Mulk Raj Anand show clearly the hypocrisy of Hindu religion in India.
