Present Indefinite Tense


Rules :- Subject + is/ are/ am +verb III form + by + object.

The passive Voice example


1. You play cricket.                        (Active Voice)
     Cricket is played by you.         (Passive voice)

2. You do not write a letter.         (Active Voice)      
     A letter is not written by you.  (Passive Voice)

3. He does not give me a book.      (Active Voice)
   I am not given a book by him.     (Passive Voice)

4. Does she sing a song?                   (Active Voice)
   Is a song sung by her?                   (Passive Voice)

5. Who breaks the glass?                (Active Voice)
    Why whom is the glass broken? (Passive Voice)

6. I know him well.                            (Active Voice)
      He is well known to me.          (Passive Voice)

7. Rama reeds a book.                     (Active Voice)
   A book is read by Rama.              (Passive Voice)

8. You do not open the door.          (Active Voice)
    The door is not opened by you.   (Passive Voice)
 
9. Why does the peon ring the bell?   (Active Voice)
    Why is the bell rung by the peon?  (Passive Voice)

10. Do you like these mango?               (Active Voice)
       Are these mango liked by you?     (Passive Voice)

          Present continuous tense

Rules:- Subject + is/are/am + being + verb III form + by + object.

Change the following sentences in to the passive Voice.


1. They are making a noise.             (Active Voice)
   A noise is being made by them.     (Passive Voice)

2. We did not eat apples.               (Active Voice)
    Apples are not eaten by us.       (Passive Voice)

3. Why are you washing your shirt?   (Active Voice)
   Why is your short being washed by you? (Passive)

4. The servant is opening the door.      (Active Voice)
   The door is being opened by the servant. (passive)

5. She is singing a song.                           (Active Voice)
    A song is being sung by her.             (Passive Voice)

6. I am not buying an umbrella.          (Active Voice)
   An umbrella is not being brought by me. (Passive)

7. Are you not cleaning the room?      (Active Voice)
    Is the room not being cleaned by you?  (Passive)


           Present perfect tense

Rules:- Subject + have has + been + verb III form + by + object.
 

Change the Voice


1. He has purchased a book.        (Active Voice)
   A book has been purchased by him.  (Passive )

2. Sohan has not learnt a poem.         (Active Voice)
    A poem has not been learned by Sohan.  (Passive)

3. Mala has not given me a pen.           (Active Voice)
   I have not been given a pen by Mala.  (Passive)

4. We have done our work.                  (Active Voice)
      Our work has been done by us.    (Passive Voice)

5. Has his brother taught me?            (Active Voice)
    Have I we taught by his brother?   (Passive Voice)

6. Where have you put my pen?     (Active Voice)
   Where has my pan been put by you? (Passive voice)

7. He has not stolen your bicycle.   (Active Voice)
    Your bicycle has not been stolen by him. (Passive voice)

8. Have you completed the essay?  (Active Voice)
   Has the essay bean completed by you?  (Passive voice)



             Past Indefinite Tense

Rules:- Subject + was/ were +verb III form + by + object.

Active to passive Voice

1. The boy killed a bird.                    (Active Voice)
     A bird was killed by the boy.       (Passive Voice)

2. You did not help me yesterday.     (Active Voice)
   I was not helped by you yesterday. (Passive Voice)

3. Prem look after his child.                  (Active Voice)
   Prem child was looked after by him. (Passive )

4. My mother did not cook the food.      (Active)
    The food was not cooked by my mother. (Passive)

5. Why did you not call them?              (Active Voice)
   Why were they not called by you?  (Passive Voice)

6. The hunter did not killed a lion.      (Active Voice)
     A lion was not killed by the hunter. (passive)

7. Did you buy a book?                           (Active Voice)
    Was a book bought by you?              (Passive Voice)

8. You did not help me yesterday.        (Active Voice)
    I was not helped by you yesterday. (Passive Voice)


             Past continuous Tense

Rules:- Subject + was/were + being + verb III form + by + object.

Change the following sentence into Active to Passive Voice.


1. Sita was reading a story.                    (Active Voice)
    A story was being read by Sita.       (Passive Voice)

2. I was not doing my homework.       (Active Voice)  My homework was not being done by me. (Passive)

3. Was he not teaching Hari English yesterday? (Active)
Was Hari not being taught English yesterday by him? (Passive)

4. They were singing a sweet song.      (Active Voice)
     A sweet song was being sung by them. (passive Voice)

5. Who was making a noise?                 (Active Voice)
   Why whom was the noise being made? (Passive Voice)

6. You were writing an article.             (Active Voice)
  An article was being written by you.(Passive Voice)
 
7. He was not watching us.                   (Active Voice)
    We were not being was by him.      (Passive Voice)

8. Where was he throwing his rough papers? (Active Voice)
   Where were work his rough papers thrown by him?      (Passive Voice)


             Past perfect Tense

Rules:- Subject + had +been + verb III form + by + object.

Active Voice and Passive Voice examples


1. She had told stories.                   (Active Voice)
    Stories had been told by her.     (Passive Voice)

2. She had helped us.                     (Active Voice)
    We had been helped by him.    (Passive Voice)

3. His father had not given him 10 rupees.  (Active Voice)
     He had not been given 10 rupees by his father father.   (Passive Voice)

4. I had he not finished his work?         (Active Voice)
   Why had his work not been finished by him?  (Passive Voice)
 
5. Had they not taught you Sanskrit?      (Active Voice)
  Had you not been thought English by them?    (Passive Voice)
 
6. The carpenter had not made a good chair.
     A good chair not been made by the carpenter.
       
7.When had your mother cooked food? (Active)
   When had food been cooked by your mother? (Passive)

8. Had the horse not kicked the young boy? (Active)
    Had the young boy not been kicked by the horse.

9. The servant had not rung the bell. (Active Voice)
     The bell had not rung by the servant. (Passive voice)




           Future indefinite Tense

Rules:- Subject + will/shall + be + verb III form + by + object.

Change the following Active Voice


1. He will pluck a flower.
     A flower will be plugged by him.

2. The wolf will eat the lamb. 
    The lamb will be eaten by the wolf.

3. The teacher will not make him monitor of the class.
He will not be made monitor of the class by the teacher. 

4. Whom will teach you science?
     By whom will you be taught science?

5. The servant will not do it.
    It will not be done by the servant.

6. Why will we not wash his dirty clothes?
    Why will his dirty clothes not be washed by him?

7. Ramesh will obey his mother.
   His mother will be obeyed by Ramesh.

      
          Future perfect tense

Rules:- Subject + will/shall + have + verb III form +by + object. 

1. A hunter will have killed the tiger.
The tiger will have been killed by the hunter.

2. The teacher will have made him the captain.
    He will have been made the captain by the teacher.

3. They will not have played the match.
   The match will not have been played by them.

4. She will not have loved her friends.
    Har friends will not have been loved by her.

5. Who will have called you?
   Why whom will you have been called?

6. The peon will not have rung the bell.
    The well will not have been rung by the peon.

7. Why will you not have helped the poor boy?
   Why will the poor boy not have been held by you?

8. Will she have written her child?
   Will her child have been written by her?

            Passive Voice English


         Imperative sentences

1. Write a letter.
    Let a letter be written by you.

2. Please sit down.
   You are requested to sit down.
  
3. Please do not leave me alone.
    You are requested not to leave me alone.

4. Don't make a noise.
    You are ordered not to make a noise.

5. Do not insult the weak.
    Let not the week be insulted by you.

6. Love your country.
    Your country should be loved.

7. Don't ask any question.
    Let no question we asked (by you).

8. Open the door.
   Let the door be opened by you. 
                      Or
   You are ordered to open the door.

9. Subject him to a severe examination.
    You are ordered to subject him to a severe examination.

10. Please walk to the right.
      You are requested to walk to the right.


          Interrogative sentence

1. Did the wind blow down the trees?
    Were the trees blown by the wind?

2. Why have you stolen in my book?
    Why has my book been stolen by you?

3. Do you know her?
    IS she known to you?

4. Will she punish us?
     Shall we be punished by her?

5. Had they not talk you English yesterday?
   Had you not been thought English yesterday by them?

6. Will he not disobey his teacher?  (Active Voice)
    Will his teacher not be disobeyed by him? (Passive voice)
